First on our list of Norfolk places of interest is the beachside town of Hunstanton. It is one of the main attractions for families in the whole of Norfolk county and it is easy to see why!
Hunstanton is famous for its striped cliffs, gorgeous sunsets, and welcoming community. Built in 1846, the town continues to maintain its Victorian character and offers something to suit visitors of any age, from crazy golf and penny slots to eating fish and chips along the promenade and wandering through the romantic Esplanade Gardens.

A visit to Norfolk wouldn’t be complete without a trip to the Norfolk Broads National Park, comprising of 60 areas of water, known as ‘broads’, seven rivers, and home to a wide variety of rare wildlife – greater than any other British National Park. The park is the only home to Britain’s largest butterfly, The Swallowtail, as well as the Norfolk hawker dragonfly, and is Britain’s largest protected wetland.

Holkham Hall is an 18th-century country house, constructed for the 1st Earl of Leicester. The stately home and its grounds are rich in heritage, wildlife, and historic architecture, offering a variety of activities suitable for visitors of all ages.
Holkham encompasses a National Nature Reserve, a walled garden, a beach, and acres of parkland, home to Holkham’s residential deer. Holkham hosts numerous events throughout the year and also offers their visitors cycle and boat hire to truly enjoy all the hall and its grounds have to offer.

Great Yarmouth is a fantastic day out for families with children as it offers a wide variety of activities to keep little ones busy! It also offers shops, restaurants, cafés, and ice cream parlours and has a promenade which offers beautiful views of the sea to stroll along whilst eating your fresh fish and chips and smelling the sea air.
Great Yarmouth is also a great location if you have mobility issues and use a wheelchair as it offers ramps down to the beach so that everyone can enjoy the feeling of sand in between their toes!

Situated at the heart of Norfolk Coast’s Area of Outstanding Beauty, Blakeney Point is a gorgeous setting for family and romantic visits. It has vast open spaces as well as stunning coastline views and offers habitats for a wide variety of wildlife within its saltmarshes, Blakeney Harbour and Blakeney Point shingle spit.
One of the main reasons people visit Blakeney Point is to catch a glimpse of England’s largest grey seal colony, with over 3,000 seal pups born each winter. Seal watching is available all year round and is considered a wildlife spectacular with many seal visitors throughout the year.

The Cathedral Quarter is a specific area of Norwich in Norfolk which is well worth a visit, offering history and character and stunning scenery. The quarter is home to the UK’s oldest hotel, Norwich Cathedral as well as a variety of historic shops and cafés.

If you want to feel like royalty for a day, then take a visit to Sandringham House, a country estate and the private home of Queen Elizabeth II. The Grade II listed house is on a 20,000-acre estate and set within Norfolk Coast’s Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
A visit to the Sandringham estate can include marveling at the intricate architecture of the house, wandering through the expansive beautiful gardens, taking a picnic and enjoying it within the woodlands of the estate grounds, or visiting the Sandringham Garden Plant Centre or Sandringham Church of St Mary Magdalene.

Roll up, roll up! A visit to the Hippodrome Circus is a must-do when visiting Norfolk! The historic Hippodrome was built in 1903 and is Britain’s only surviving total circus building.
Since its construction over a century ago, the Hippodrome has hosted a wide variety of entertainment, including water shows, circus acts, Houdini hijinks, and even a military practice shooting range during the war! With a whole host of history, a visit to the Hippodrome is not something you’d want to miss!

Well known for its colourful beach huts, Wells-next-the-Sea is a stunning town on the North Norfolk coast, offering vast 40-mile stretches of beach and coastline, towering pinewoods, a bustling harbour, and the lush leafy ‘Buttlands’ green with its many taverns.
Wells is the perfect place for a relaxing beach day out and is a fantastic area to spot protected wildlife, go crabbing in the habour or enjoying a delicious meal on the quay.
